Soami Bagh Samadh Agra Address: Soami Bagh, Poiya Ghat Rd, Soamibagh, Dayal Bagh, Agra, Uttar Pradesh, 282005, India
Mark Twain once mused, 'You can't depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus,' and nowhere is this truer than in Agra, a city where each corner holds stories of empires and embraces the sublime.
In the middle of Agra's ageless grandeur, where history is whispered with every step and the Taj Mahal is a tribute to unending love, there is a hidden jewel called the Soami Bagh Samadh that appeals to those looking for spiritual comfort.
This sacred site, adorned with intricate marble carvings and surrounded by lush gardens, invites you on a journey of serenity and introspection amidst the bustling cityscape of Agra.
History of Soami Bagh Samadh, Agra
The Soami Bagh is also known as Radha Swami Samadh.
Huzur Maharaj, the second Sat Guru, believed it was important to build a Samadh in loving memory of the respected Founder of the Radhasoami Faith. This place would welcome people from all over the world at the faith's main centre.
#Trivia: Soamiji Maharaj dedicated his life to spiritual enlightenment and exploration of inner divinity during the 19th century.
Soami Ji Maharaj and Huzur Maharaj insisted everyone visit Radhasoami Bagh once in a lifetime and learn about the spiritual teachings of Soamiji Maharaj. Soami Ji Maharaj initially bought Soami Bagh, intending it to be the permanent home for the Radhasoami Faith.
Once, when Soamiji Maharaj was having a walk with a few of the Sadhus, one of them suggested building a home for Soami Ji Maharaj. But Soami Ji Maharaj had a different vision. He saw a place of worship, a gurudwara there.
At that very moment, the Sadhus did not understand the meaning behind his words. Still, later, when Soamiji Maharaj left the world, his Samadh (resting place) was built in the same spot where he intended to be the “gurudwara.”
Soami Bagh is a truly special and sacred place on Earth, where the Maharaj smiles upon everyone who witnesses his greatness. Soami Ji Maharaj and Huzur Maharaj used to say that even a bird flying over Soami Bagh is considered lucky and is destined to have a human life in its next existence.
Soami Bagh Samadh now functions as a sacred space for meditation and reflection for adherents of the Radha Soami Satsang Beas tradition, where the teachings and principles instituted by Soamiji Maharaj continue to spread.

The building is about 110 feet tall and made completely of white marble. The building has extensively detailed carvings and designs that show a mix of spirituality and artistic skill.
Around the samadh, a calm and peaceful garden makes the whole place much more peaceful. It is perfect for meditating and relaxing. It has pillars incarnated with beautiful designs made with inlaid stones on the inner walls. They started building it in February 1904 and have been working on it for 100 years.
Right next to the big building, there is a Bhajan Ghar. This Bhajan Ghar is where Soamiji Maharaj used to sit and perform his spiritual practices.
Nowadays, daily gatherings for prayers and satsang are performed there. They celebrate special festivals, and a Bhandara is scheduled in which many devoted people visit the place and perform prayers and bhajans, followed by bhojan (dinner/lunch) for everyone.
